Thoroughly chuffed with these photos,
mostly because they captured a really sweet and lovely moment between all of us this morning, and Moet was in an extremely charming and gently playful mood.
So for once,
the majority of photos are of Moet! :)

When I came in, they were doing this.

Maybe was very aware of Moet. Especially as I was giving him some attention (he likes belly rubs and had turned to solicited them).

Moet starting to feel a bit more playful.

Around this point, he exposed his belly and started looking a great deal MORE playful. With me!

Here, very amusingly, he was gently pawing the camera and my hand, and I was 'getting' him by gently pawing him back. So we tussled for a little while.

Which finished with him sprawling and purring throughout belly rubs.

And then Maybe didn't want to be left out. So she walked up and sat near him, and he started gently batting at her too. She wasn't sure at first. She had, to her credit, just woken up. Otherwise it would have been on like Donkey Kong.

Eeek, so cute. :) I love moments like that. My cats have been more playful now that they have a space (my room) away from the dogs. They don't tend to play much in public spaces since it solicits unwanted dog-attention (they want to play too!)

Moet must be the only boy-cat I know of that tolerates belly rubs. :) Brutus loves them but they tend to make him grab and bite (gently, thank goodness, compared to most cats) because it's over-stimulating I guess? Most of the male cats I know don't like their belly touched at *all*. My girl Okage loves belly pats all day long, though.

I love Maybe's expression when Moet reaches for her, hahaha.

I'm glad your cats have a space! I'm hoping that - if we ever do get a dog - the cats continue to play and romp around. They enjoy it so much now.

Moet *loves* belly rubs. But only from certain people, and only when he's in the mood (i.e. he's soliciting attention). But he's never had many reasons to feel like he needs to guard that area, so that probably helps.

These are *super* photos. Simply *super*. :) The first head shot of Moet is a marvelous portrait, and I also really love the one where Moet's paw is in contact with the side of Maybe's head, and you can *see* her smiling and know that (1) he's being gentle and (2) they're playing.

I was so glad to get the photos I got of Moet, it really kind of conveys how gently playful he can be. Maybe is kind of like a cannonball sometimes, and just catapults into people. And, in all honesty, Moet can sometimes be ridiculously energetic. But for the most part he's like this. Engaging and good-natured and gentle. I'm glad he and Maybe get along.

You catch the absolute best moments in your cats' lives. Stunning photos, I actually laughed aloud at the one where Moet is sort of smushing Maybe's cheek to try to initiate play -- he's so gentle and yet so determined!

Photos like this make me all the more certain that I wish to adopt another cat down the road. Sammi did so well in a multiple cat household previously, and I worry about her having to be home by herself more in the future if I wind up taking a 9 to 5 after graduate school.

Yeah, I like the one of him smooshing her cheek as well, and Maybe just taking it but not moving away, waiting to see what'll happen.

I hope you can get another cat down the road. I was so worried, because some websites will say things like 'sometimes they will just not get along, ever,' but things went surprisingly well. Moet was making cautious overtures after about three days. And he stopped hissing every time he saw her after about a week and a half (though that felt like a very long week and a half!)
