[PotD] Went to Hillary's Boat Harbour yesterday.

I was mostly focused on not taking photos,
but still managed to snap a few.
It was a nice evening,
a cool breeze but not too cold,
and some awesome fish & chips, and gelato to be had by all.

I tinkered with the idea of putting this one first as my 'photo of the day,' but realised that most people would probably want to see a sunset instead of like, fairyfloss clouds. But I am all for fairyfloss clouds!

Oh they're all gorgeous. I really must try and get back to the beach when we visit family again. I do miss it. We used to walk the dog every evening at the dog beach in Newcastle. It really grounded me. I'd always lived less than an hour away from the coast before moving out here. It's so dry right now.

I love the colours in these. The clouds are amazing.

I've never seen the sun set over the ocean in person.

Ooof, those clouds! the shapes in the 2nd and 3rd photo, especially with the sunset in them. O.O

(But my favorite is the fairy floss photo. Those /colors/)

Of course, I'm entirely of the opinion that the fairy floss clouds should have been first! The third and fourth ones are a little mesmerising (I keep tilting my head to my right).

I've heard legends about that big orangy-red bally thing. My grandad told me it sometimes appears in the sky!

We have a brilliant sun in a blazing blue heaven here, but step out of the door, inhale... and it's like you've inhaled a glass of ice water because it's currently -25C (today's high, as I am writing this in the early afternoon). Heh. I realize you would like your heat there to ease off, but I still appreciate it vicariously.

Ahh, the fairyfloss clouds are lovely! They look like you could eat them.

I love the sharpness of the first picture too. I've seen a sunset like that many times, but the way this brings out all the details is special.
