[PotD] Moet and Maybe.

I have decided to get back into proper Photos of the Day in the new year. I sort of lost my way a bit, because Instagram is so easy, but I like getting out the camera and actually taking 'proper' amateur photos. So I've started doing that again. I stopped because I also started feeling like my life was really boring and... uninteresting. That's been something I've struggled with all year. But I've decided that even if I spent every day inside, it is possible to find something that at the very least - I like or find interesting - once a day... so that's what I'm going to do. Or try to do.
My favourite subjects are of course my cats. Lol.

They’re lovely! :) Maybe’s eyes are very striking.

At certain angles it's like 'woah.' But because her pupils are often dilated due to alertness or shadows, you don't get to see them like that, that often!

Moet loves lying down like that. Maybe was directly above him on the tower, and just 'hangin' out.' She's actually been a cutie today. :)

The reason I stopped doing daily photos for a while is very similar. I don't leave the apartment much and it's small and cluttered and I felt very boring taking pictures of the same things over and over again. It was depressing me and so I just stopped. But I decided to try and get over that feeling and take pictures anyway because I was feeling worse not taking them at all. Hopefully I can keep it up.

I actually LOVE your daily photos, even if some of the subject matter is similar, it's actually just very touching to see pictures of yourself, your daughter, your home. I know I don't often comment, but I always expand cuts and look at all your photos, and I love them. I think actually, it's been your dedication to coming back to these photos, that has made me realise that sometimes the 'repetition' doesn't really matter, because it's a way of seeing your life in a more tangible sense, and that matters, and is a lovely thing to have shared. :)

I generally find glimpses of others' lives to be quite interesting--probably because I am an outsider. I would, no doubt, fall into the trap of considering my own life boring to other people.

Anyway, these are gorgeous! The one of Maybe is particularly lovely. I look forward to seeing more of Maybe and Moet (and anything else that catches your fancy).

Given that I can find photographs on a few simple subjects infinitely interesting, I don't think I would find the repetition in your photos to be a problem. An eternal sequence of garden photographs is one such that appeals, and I like your cloud pho graphs as well.

Are there any specific rules for PotD participation, if I were to wind up opting to give it a go?

One photo per day, preferrably taken each day (i.e. not hoarded up in advance), of anything you like, for 365 days. If you miss a day or a week or a month, that's okay! :) The idea is to look for something that you find notable - whether beautiful or ugly or sentimental or symmetrical or pretty or colourful (or whatever) - and document it. It can be a lot of fun, and on really really fucking bad days, it can sometimes be a way of moving beyond the 'bad.' And when it isn't, it can be a way of documenting a bleak reality (which I found handy, myself.)
