This is primarily for fun,
and a bit of a test run to get back into the soft pastels
since it's been a really long time since I've worked with soft pastels.
Anyway here:
have a Totoro and a Catbus.
Totally work in progress!

Date: 2012-12-19 04:04 am (UTC)But, one of the tricks I was taught by a pastel artist is to choose a shade of paper based on one of two things: 1 - what colour will predominantly be in your work - if navy, for example, then choose navy paper as an asset in the process of colouring. OR, go the opposite direction, and choose something specifically for contrast. I.e. blue paper when a piece will be primarily red. :)
But I tend to go by instinct. :)
