[Art] The Losing Altitude Kickstarter is now LIVE! :)

I've mentioned this a few times, but I am contributing some original art
to a crowdfunded book by the name of Losing Altitude,
which draws much needed attention to the plight of Endangered and Critically Endangered birds.
I am in the company of many wonderful artists, and it would be wonderful
if you could contribute to this project.
There will be hard-cover and soft-cover versions, and depending on how much you pledge
you can get one with some extra awesome goodies now.
Or you can just give a few dollars and wait for the book to come out! :)

Did the author has a list of birds she wanted in the book from which to pick from, or were the artist able to create their own ideas of which birds they wanted to create for the book? Either way, most awesome!

We got to choose, so long as the bird was on the IUCN Red List as Endangered or Critically Endangered, and no one else had taken it. All of my first choices were actually taken (I wanted a black cockatoo, an albatross, and something else that I can't remember now), so I ended up - accidentally actually - selecting three parrots. Lol.

I really love the delicacy of the colours in these. Not that they're not amply colourful, but the way you've woven them all together, and the subtle shading on the feet and the beaks, etc. is wonderful. Also please allow me to rave again about how much I like how you handle leaves. :)

Glad you like the leaves! I actually did a fair bit of research into the natural flora that surround these birds, so the leaf shapes while not reminiscent of any specific plant, are still evocative of the types of leaf shapes and flower shapes of the region.
