This is a personal project I've been working on in the background of everything else,
it's personal title is - je L'yuvoczack bruvok
and it's both significant within Vilturj,
and important to me as well.
I very rarely do personal artwork that I intend to keep (I do a lot of personal art that I then go onto sell!).
Still percolating over the colour scheme.

Question on updated art preference

The reason I am asking this here is because you have access to my journal here, and could choose to follow the Lemon tag if you wanted to (and frankly, had the time and energy to) do research.

Recently on your art facebook, someone asked about tattoos. Your answer has changed with time and experience. Although I asked for the Lemon picture with the intent to ink it, I have not yet done so. There is a schedule, a budget, and someone local to try to, as much as possible, interpret your art and Lemon (even more) into me.

All of those plans can be put aside if me wearing Lemon as you draw Lemon isn't something you can agree with. The art as it stands continues to delight me. Even without the reason I asked to begin with, the tattoo, it was and has been totally worth the commission and more. I am very happy. Just let me know.

I apologize. There was the end of quarter at work which mentally had me willing to pop into frivolous stuff, but not really getting into email. I am sorry that meant I was very active here, but no reply back there. Yes, I got your answer and will reply there as well, Thank you very much.

Thank you. The motion with the leaves I thought about a while (how to execute it well), I hope I can pull it off with colouring.

Gods, I love this so much. The wind and how it curls right by the fox, the fiddle-heads, the many, many layers of leaves and textures, and of course, the melanistic fox itself. So wise-looking. :D

Yep, melanistic simply means the dark variant (like albino means a white variant) of an animal. :)

I wish I had more time to do the larger pieces, since they're very satisfying not just on a personal level, but also on an artistic level. That being said, I'm able to do a bit more with the 'as totems' series too now that I've developed a bit, which is also fun.

On a slightly unrelated note, have you ever thought of doing a black and white 'coloring book' type thing? I don't know why that struck me, but it did when I saw this on FB. Though in the wrong format, the details get lost, so perhaps it's not a good idea after all...ignore my ramblings.

Then probably just stare at it in amazement rather than actually color it, rofl.

Colouring books are actually quite difficult, because you need a quality of paper that will hold coloured pencil - and a lot of places offer a glossy, smooth paper that won't hold coloured pencil at all. But I'll have a look into it; a lot of details would get lost though. For a cheap grade of paper that holds coloured pencil, the pieces need to be quite simple because anything that holds coloured pencil often won't hold a high grade of ink, particularly in publishing. :)

One of the infinitely many things I love about this peace is the way the wind helps me see the totem markings as ties into the environment, in the echo of the movement. Sure, the ferns are there too, but wind is usually more invisible. It makes me wonder what else I am not seeing.

It took some time to think about how to show the wind, and also how to colour it (which is why I'm hedging a bit on starting the colouring process), I'm glad I have the glyphs there to communicate that flow as well.

Wow. Wooooow. Your rendering of the wind and wind-blown leaves is absorbing, beautiful, and clever. It creates such a sense of movement!
