It's been cat energy galore, over the past two months.
I think I've illustrated about four or five domestic cats (with another one the way),
and now we're moving into the big cats.
One of these is a commission,
but the other two will be available.

Ooooooooh, I *might* be tempted in the direction of that lovely caracal one. But... wallet, is so tight :/ *squirms*

It will go up on Etsy if it's not grabbed up before then, and once on Etsy, some pieces wait around for a while for the perfect owner. And there will always be prints! Though prints don't capture the metallic/iridescent pigments as much.

Serval and caracal are both gorgeous! I can't decide which I like better.

Serval just -looks- attentive and playful, and caracal has such a lovely desert-winds feeling.

I love the caracal too! I'm a big fan of servals and I'm happy with that one, but that caracal has that deep, desert wisdom that I was hoping to capture, I think. Hopefully that comes through with inking/colouring as well.

I have muse connections to cheetah and caracal and I think servals are just neat. My absolute fave cat is cougars. It's cool and ironic that I live in/near one of their remaining strongholds.

You've really "caught" the cheetah. *Very* strongly, from my knowledge of the breed. Of course I'm excited about the Caracal because I really love them. They are incredible -- such skilled, powerful hunters relative to their size, and socially more warm with each other than many other felids. They're living distillations of the desert, almost. :) And of course your Serval is charming. I've both seen this species in the wild and met ones kept as pets (officially it was a wildlife rehabilitation center -- functionally the Servals were pets though), and they're charming.

I used to have problems with cheetah (despite them being one of my favourite of the bigger cats), but this time it was just... it just worked. I feel like cats are being a lot more forthcoming with their energy with me now? I'm not sure if that's an accurate way of explaining it, but I don't feel like I have to fight to get a shred of it now; it's abundant and it's *there.*

Well, you have spent the last year plus working very closely with a near-wild cat. Whether it's because you've developed more skills to understand, or they're more likely to try to extend themselves, the end result is the same: better contact.

Servals are awesome. They have really cute little faces, to my own eye, they sometimes look kittenish, and sometimes dog-like, and sometimes cat-like, and basically everything in between. *g*

Eee, thank you. Cheetah tends to ask for arrows (with me), which seems very unsubtle, but I just go with it!

Servals have really awesome face-shapes - very different morphology to many other cats, and certainly many of the big-cats. It's more dog-like (to me) and simultaneously neotenic (in general). Their heads are also very small in proportion to their bodies. I can see why people saw an appeal in hybridising them with domestic cats to make Savannah Cats, though I hope to god they never make it over to Australia.

I'd love to illustrate a white one, one day. :)
