[Photos] Museum of Western Australia.
Jun. 11th, 2012 12:14 pmOn Saturday, Putu, Glen and I went to the Museum of Western Australia
(and then to Korean BBQ)
and then we went home and watched the rest of season 1 Fringe (which is like my 10th time rewatching, but yay!)
Anyway, have some photos.

Date: 2012-06-11 08:21 am (UTC)I wish I had spent more time at the museum when I was younger. I think I may have only been once, or maybe twice before, as a child.

Date: 2012-06-11 07:09 am (UTC)Some butterflies look so unreal. It's hard to imagine that they exist, just fluttering around in the real world.

Date: 2012-06-11 08:25 am (UTC)The butterflies were amazing. The ones with all that glossy iridescence just blew my mind. How are they real? I can't imagine seeing them in the wild.

Date: 2012-06-16 02:17 am (UTC)and is that second deer mount a Pere David's deer?
I think so? I'm not actually sure, I didn't get a chance to look at the sign specifically for that deer; however I know they did have a couple of extinct / rare ones represented.

Date: 2012-06-16 02:38 am (UTC)I still think so now that I'm not high on cold medications and stupid from being sick. It's got the long skinny rostrum, the prominent preorbital gland, and what really caught my attention, the "reversed" antlers(i.e. with the brow tine pointing backward). They are an amazing species! I'm excited second hand that you saw an actual mount. :D

Date: 2012-06-16 02:20 am (UTC)*nods* I was just kind of... heartbroken and disappointed. I'm really glad the museum actually took the time to gather these quotes and put them up, because it's a more realistic perspective on what was happening - but it was very confrontational. :/
