Yessssssss.
You can see in the first photo that I'm resting it on two chairs.
The first coat of black paint has gone down, and I have to finish inking the Wolverine.
The background, so far, will remain white.
It will be a stark piece; though the wolverine will be fully coloured.

My first thoughts on the work and its title weren't based on a deep analysis, so it's just my impression ot it.

It's all good; it's just my understanding of that particular word (inane) is a negative / insulting one, so I wanted to clarify.

Actually, what I mean to say was silly, not insignificant or pointless. Upon looking up the word "inane", I realize that wasn't quite the word I meant. I'm sorry.

The contrast in this is amazing. I almost wish it would stay black and white. :) BUT, I am sure as always the coloured version will blow me away.

To me, it looks like the black parts of one of your 'as totem' artworks has formed into the shape of an octopus to menace the wolverine that was in the bespiralled section. Not that it will end up that way when you keep the background white.

A perfect metaphor for modern life. If only all of us had the tenacity of a wolverine for going after the creeping tentacles of corruption and decline!

But me? I am bouncing a bit in my chair with impossibly high hopes....yesterday the Manchild was talking to a very elderly gentleman who lives the next town over. Somehow, their conversation got around to the topic of wolverines and the old man gave my son contact info for a guy (presumably somewhere semi-local) who RAISES wolverines!

I hope we can arrange a visit, and to see if he accepts volunteer helpers. Cause oh my Gods....to be so close, to see them....

Upon second look, I am very much enjoying the solid black tentacles contrasted with the white space, and detailed wolverine. Cannot wait to see this coloured.
