We got Moet during Christmas
only a few days after I had to euthanase my old boy, Smokey.
Moet was teeny tiny,
people don't believe me now, as he's quite big for a DSH,
but he was teeny tiny, and adorable.


Moet and Missy (Missy is the young tenterfield terrier in the foreground, she was about 5 months old when this pic was taken).

Kittens are of course mind-bendingly cute at that age -- far cuter than puppies. Moet was no exception! Is it a trick of the light, or was he more strongly marked on his back legs when he was a kitten? I know his tail has still retained more markings, but I'd think he was more "dilute" now.

Missy is also very charming in these photos. :)

Yeah, he was more strongly marked on his back legs! The strength starts to come back a bit when he gets his darker, summer coat (his Winter coat tends to be quite creamy, and some of his stripes seem to disappear entirely in certain lights).

He was adorable. And affectionate too. And extraordinarily playful, though now that I have seen Maybe's kittenhood, I know the difference between 'a super playful kitten that's a handful,' and 'a reactive kitten that has behavioural issues.'

The expression in the second photo from the bottom (where he is in Missy's bed) in particular made me smile because I've seen it many times in your photos of Moet as an adult. It's obviously very him, showing that he's fundamentally a very happy, contented fellow. :)

I imagine you have an excellent gauge for kitten behaviour now through experience. Not that reactivity is *that* common, but should you see it in an animal again you'll recognise it easily.
