A steady hand (I don't have a tripod, I DO have a very steady hand!), no flash, wider focus on my macro lens (55mm), and tweaking the motion setting a little. I alternated between manual and auto-focus, depending on what I was taking photos of. In the cases of the fish, I sometimes moved as slowly as they were moving, or matched the camera to their movement; that way the photo looks like a non-moving fish in focus, instead of a moving fish that's blurring past the camera. That was hard to do though, and only worked in some cases (the scorpionfish, mostly).
But that being said, I didn't even try to photograph some of the exhibits (like the aquarium walkthrough tunnel where the loggerhead turtles and sharks were), there was just never enough light.
