We had a fair bit of rain over the past month.
Not enough to fill the dams.
But enough to fill Bell's Rapids!


I really should remember that Bell's Rapids is only a ten minute drive from our front door. I always forget, because I'm so used to being a lot further from it.

Glen was in a very silly mood.













The sun was setting. So all the foam lit up.

Here's something you may not know about me; I have a phobia of walking on bridges that cross great heights, or water. If they're too high, or I seriously think I wouldn't survive if they broke, I refuse to cross them. But this one's okay, because I like my chances of surviving the bridge falling apart with only a broken bone or two. I'm very strange.





Then we went to Bell's Lookout





To watch the sunset together.




And then we drove back the ten minutes it takes to get to our place, and then to Dome cafe, where I had a big breakfast for dinner; because big breakfasts for dinner are the greatest way to end a hike.

Putu! It's always nice to see faces to the names you write about here. :) What a gorgeous place! That's awesome it's only ten minutes away.

Breakfasts at non-breakfast-times are always a great idea.

They made all these awesome foods and then we're only meant to eat them in the morning? No way no how! Lol.

And yeah, it really is gorgeous; when it has water in it! Last time I was there, I snapped photos of Glen and I sitting on a rock in the middle of the Avon river, because... no water. Or, almost no water.

That's certainly some beautiful countryside. It's also good to see Putu and Glen. Does your friend know when/if he will be going back to Japan?

He's still waiting to hear back from the Visa people / consulates at the moment, they're still processing his paperwork. But he's pretty much out of here as soon as he gets the green light! I know you're probably tired; but I have photos of the holiday in previous posts (or just under tag - life - holiday).

Heh! I am looking forward very much to seeing your vacation photos, but I'm holding them out to myself as a species of reward. I have to finish the washing up and clear away the laundry, then I may look! (Honestly, the amount of disorder from a simple four days away... I have equipment strewn hither and yon in my front room, it looks like a used sporting goods store exploded!
