Just went outside. It's even bigger now. Disturbing. DEC has no prescribed burns listed. But FESA has no fire alerts either. The Ellenbrook community is all like; 'uhhhh?'

Date: 2011-05-03 01:41 am (UTC)It's a big, big prescribed burn. When the freak tornado came through and uprooted hundreds of mature pine trees (or snapped them plain in half like matchsticks, which is quite a sight), it left a lot of drying pine wood filled with pine oil. So they've been trying to deal with that as quickly as possible. The original prescribed burn was 70 hectares in size, so they definitely had a lot to deal with.
