Ooooers... Walrus has an even more intense look on his face, and Armadillo looks almost surprised or startled here.

These are *gorgeous*. They also prompted the following irreverent captions in my head:

Walrus: "You seek an audience?"

Lory: "Oh, gods, not again."

Armadillo: "Gimme the coffee, gimme the coffee."

The Walrus is still my favorite -- you've really captured the beast. And I'm terribly impressed with the Armadillo -- those scales aren't easy, and you've caught the "look" of the eye. I also really like the "rooty" energy spirals -- very appropriate!

No one's got dibs yet, but I've also flagged him to go for a higher price than the others because of all the stippling; so he'll be going for $90 US. :)

I've felt a pull to generic armadillo energy since drawing the Pink Fairy, and this guy really *pings* me. :)

:D That's awesome. When I was looking at different armadillo species to draw, I saw the pink fairy link and smiled, it made me think of you. :D

Such life and character to each drawing! I'm excited for colouring, because then it will be like they're crawling right off the page. :)

WALRUS!!!!! I wonder, though, why no one ever draws the female?

It's the same with birds; no one ever requests the drabber, smaller female. With the exception of raptors and owls, where the female is often more colourful and larger. And probably eclectus parrots.

And then if course with spiders and with a lot of fish and insects, people invariably want the female illustrated instead of the male. Heh.

I always thought it was because the totem wanted to be displayed that way, not the people requesting that.

It depends; but yeah - I do sometimes get specific gender requests. But when I contact a totem energy, I access both genders (for the animals that have them) pretty easily, so I can choose. The one exception is doe (it doesn't come easy); though I've worked with her about three times now.
