Also I note that there are *no spirals* here. :-o It's also rather more vividly colored than your previous Brolga as Totem pic. Very neat contrast!

No spirals, though in the very first Brolga, from like 7 years ago, I don't think there were any spirals either. The very first Brolga totem picture also had a lot of rainbow! And pink! In fact, I love that picture, the only reason I couldn't keep it was because the brolga subject was too small in the picture and translated badly to a card.

Wonderful and beautiful, especially the composition of movement and the rainbow/spectrum coming from the wing <3. I'm just curious though, as to which image portrays the colors of the original piece most accurately because the scanned images have a more bluish tint to them which makes the brolga's face and the first/top color of the spectrum to appear hot pink or magenta, and the photo instead shows those areas in a more yellowish tint and thus as red. Either way looks great, but I'm interested anyway in getting a more accurate idea of what the original looks like :3.

Ah, I thought so (and I must say, I do prefer it even more in that color tint, although the more pinkish one is still nice ^_^). Scanners can be notorious for adding too much blue tint to images and washing out certain colors, though in this case, if you'd prefer, you could probably add a mild yellowish color filter to the scanned image to get it more accurate to the original.

Oh yeah, and this piece of Brolga seems to really reflect many of the messages and associations of him/her. And although I've not worked with Brolga specifically, I have had strong associations toward cranes in general in regards to my interest and activity in dancing for years.

It's kind of sad, but I've already tweaked the colours a great deal in the scan. It actually massively desaturated everything and the bluish tint was a lot worse. I think having the solid black and the very 'bright' colours, with the much milder yellows of the top right, and the pale grey of the brolga itself, really confused it.

Yeah, it's in my older style, though a bit bolder for Brolga. :) Some of the illustrations though that are replacing the others are literally identical composition wise; the only thing that's changed is the colours and lines are a bit more vivid so they translate better to card size.

Is the rainbow a symbol unique to your depiction of Brologa, or is there a connection that goes beyond? I'm reminded of the rainbow serpent, which has a lore connection to rainbows, so that's why I ask.
