nope, definitely phallic. first time I saw it, I was like, "ooo, shiny head peeking out of foreskin!" I wonder if it'll change how I feel about my garden worms this next growing season. The totemic description fits me to a tee. I love the soil detail.

Heh. I'm glad to see that other people have observed that this looks phallic to them, so I can freely admit to it. It's not just the earthworm itself, but the longer leaves, and the shape of the soil. I will freely admit to having a dirty mind in this regard... which somewhat fits with the worm, yes? :D In all seriousness, I love the richness and vividity of the colours. Somehow the mixture of the greens, and that nice loamy brown, and the pink, all work exceedingly well.

Phallusifying the worm. :D I don't know, they essentially help to fertilise the earth. They're 'dirty.' It all just kind of came together in my head and worm didn't mind. Also a lot of people haven't noticed! So I think it'll just be one of those things where some people will tilt their head one day and be like OH MY GOOOOOO-

Oh yes, definitely phallic. *blush* It fits for what earthworm always wanted, in fact this composition is almost identical to the previous illustration, except just... better and more fleshed out. The earthworm also fertilises the soil, moves through tunnels in the soil, it just very much lends itself to other parallels.
