I love earthworms.
No really.
I was one of those people who saved earthworms that had stranded on footpaths.
And thankfully I know a lot of other people around me who did exactly the same thing.

Awwww! I am in LOVE with this little guy!

Guilty of being one of those people. Especially on days after it would rain and they would be washed onto the pavement. Now I also collect them to put them in my compost box. :)

You've managed to make a worm cute. :D (Not that they're not wonderful, unique creatures that fulfill and important ecological niche, but...)

*squee* Earthworm!!! How beautiful, I love love love :D

Earthworm is one of the most humbling medicines to have, and such a powerful, quiet teacher he is. One of the girls from Circle has Earthworm medicine and she can just move earth in the garden like it's sand. She doesn't fully appreciate it, which is really sad. I think I will have to get her a print of this when it is done!

OMG the *earthworm hearts*.

I walked with one of my clients once, after a rainstorm, and we picked up earthworms and put them back on soil to save them. I love earthyworms.

Now that my budget is bigger, I keep watching your art for an original to buy. A lot of it is stuff that is lovely but doesn't speak to me... I might have to consider buying this one though if no one else is more keenly interested. >_>

*Doesn't speak to me personally, I should say; not something I connect with like I do with say, the Grackle as Totem piece. Or some of your work outside of the as-totem prints that I can't quite afford. *hehe*

I do that, too. Even though I suspect a lot of them around here are actually invasive species :\

Yeah, apparently a significant part of North America has no native earthworms. But thanks to European settlers (like my ancestors), now we have them. And in parts of the continent where the forests evolved without earthworms, the decomposition cycle is being adversely affected by the worms' presence. Here's one such link, but "invasive earthworms" as search terms turns up plenty: http://www.allaboutwildlife.com/invasive-species/invasive-eartworms-in-american-soil/4545

Living in the city, though, which I do, I don't think it makes any damn difference what worms are in the dirt around here, since I'm not exactly living in wild, natural, native woodlands.

I am also an earthworm-saver.
They're so necessary, especially around here where the soil is clay, except where the earthworms have done their work. And quite pretty, in their many dusky pinks and browns. I look forward to seeing what colors this one will have!

I LOVE earthworms and always try to save them when I find them on the sidewalks. And the hearts on his back? So cute!
