It's a really cool photo, but oh my god, it's also horrifying in the "excuse me, I think I may go giggle uncontrollable/hysterically in the corner for a minute or two" way.

I looked and my brain was unfortunately very realistic about it; 'those houses and all the things in it and maybe even families if that's from the flash flood are under all that water, as well as pets, livestock, outdoor barbecues, pot plants, beloved garden plants, the shoes that everyone left on the back and front porch,' and my brain went on and on and on until I felt compelled to share the picture.

Reminds me of the first days of the Katrina/New Orleans flood. If course, that flood didn't swallow up Louisiana...

What's happening to all the evacuated people? I hope to gods they have something better waiting for them than being herded into a sports stadium. :-(

There are quite a few evacuation centres set up, around the state. I think something like five now, including primary schools, sports centres and other things. Those that fill up, put people on buses to go to new sites; so that side of things is being pretty well managed so far.

That said, a lot of people got out in time to go to friend's/family's places.

Having seen some maps today that show how widespread the flooding is, this blows my mind in really upsetting ways.
