Here there be dragons...

I wanted to do something for myself, so I used a small piece of illustrator's board (I keep my offcuts, that shit is expensive!!!) with measurements of 14.5 x 17.5 centimetres.

Scans never do justice to black and white, but meh, I deal! The original is funkalicious.

The scan is larger than the original, actually it's about twice the size of the original. Heh.

Hmm... I think it's a treasure guarding dragon, and so it's not nice to people really. But otherwise it is very tolerant of the sea, except it will eat eels and fish sometimes. *smiles*

It can't be said enough, your detailing is always beautiful and in this one particularly it's fantastic. I feel like I could run my hand over all the minute variations of the rock behind the dragon and feel every texture perfectly.

Personal curiosity: does he/she/it have a name?

I don't think he does have a name. Dragons just tend to appear fully formed in my head with a habitat, but not always a name. I think he's very old though.

I do indeed! I used to draw dragons all the time as a teen, and so sometimes I do them to sort of ground myself if I'm feeling uninspired as an artist.

Oooo I heart Sea Dragons. Both species are found along our coastline, so it just gives me another reason to be proud for living where I live.
