Well, when you get pinged, you get pinged.

It never takes me long to sketch these out anyway. It's that dastardly inking process that gets me.

Arctic Hare

Cape Hare

Tufted Deer

It will distract you with its cuteness and then SUCK UR BLOOD!11!

It has the perfect "I am so cute and trustworthy MWAHAHA EEEEEVIL" expression.

I'll be very interested in seeing how Arctic Hare develops because of course that's a species I know in the flesh. Even at this early stage I really like how you have the "hare"-ness of Cape Hare expressed. They're similar to our Jack rabbits (actually hares), and I can see the relationship shining from the page. The deer is glorious, but then I have a particular "thing" for the "primitive" deer species. I find them endlessly remarkable for the slice of the evolutionary past they show -- obviously because it still works perfectly well. :)

Deer with fangs. One of the many signs that nature cannot be defined by human thought. XD

Love the Arctic Hare. All are lovely, though.

I remember seeing the tufted deer taxidermy at the Smithsonian Museum of Natural History. I squealed with delight, and my companions looked at me strangely. I'm not sure if they were more surprised that I already knew about them, or that I was so excited.

There were similar reactions to my explaining how tree kangaroos climbed without the benefit of the little instructional video, or when we got to the meteorite room and I groped and hugged the ones that said 'please touch'

I am already in love with the Arctic Hare and the Tufted Deer... Not that the Cape Hare isn't good, but I am drawn to the other two...
