Annie is, in the words of her owner, the delightful NakedZen

"As far as I know, she's 3/4 Golden and 1/4 some sort of hound... a lot of people mistake her for a Lab, though."

One thing I know is that Annie is beautiful, to draw and to work with.

Annie's owner is very lucky -- both to have Annie, and to have this beautiful piece of art. I particularly like her eyes, and the nose is also fabulous.

I also can't resist being cheeky and observing that when my finances are in better condition I would like to ask you to do a GSD... in black. ;D (Seriously, no pressure, and I can't afford to ask such a thing at present anyway. But in future if you feel up to taking on a commission and I have the dosh, I would love to see what you would make of the boy.)

I actually quite enjoy the challenge of working with black and white animals, though particularly black, since it's more challenging and therefore much more rewarding for me (and hopefully the client) when it works out. :)

Of course you always produce beautiful artwork, but I would be very interested to see what you would make of the lad on a deeper level. For all we've made tremendous strides he was profoundly damaged when he came to me, and we have a way to go before he is healed (if that is even possible). I'm delighted to hear you would potentially be interested in the project, and as I said, no worries. I'll also understand if it doesn't work out logistically. :)

For us it's December 21st or thereabouts.

Every time I look at this portrait of Annie, the colors seem to get better. They make her look like she's siting in a patch of afternoon sun.

Beautiful :3. Like many others, I, too, love the way her eyes look--they capture and portray a lot of depth and emotion. The soft shading, especially on the muzzle, also looks especially great.
