Oh man, I've known horses to do some shocking things to themselves! Caught in fences, rubbing injuries, all sorts.
And wow, 'fell on a box of glass' is horrifying. :( But also? Doesn't surprise me, kittens seem to be able to do everything in their power to try and kill themselves. Most of the time it's fine, but when it's not, it's really really not.
