Southern Bobuck (Brushtail Possum) as Totem
The bobuck, or mountain brushtail possum (Trichosurus cunninghami), is a nocturnal, Australian possum. It has since been hesitantly divided into two species, moving from the 'Mountain Brushtail Possum' to the 'Southern Bobuck' and 'Northern Bobuck.'
Bobucks, unlike common brushtails, are not found in urban areas because their diet is quite restricted. They nest in tree hollows, and will occasionally be found on the ground eating fungi.
The bobuck may be the world's longest living marsupial species.
