Awww. I wish the animals didn't need rescuing but I'm glad to see firefighters helping wildlife as well.

Is that second one a sugar glider? Or am I thinking of the wrong animal? It's so cute!

Yeah probably. Or one of the many little gliders we have here. :)

Wow, are they really that tame to let a human up so close?

Koalas? Yeah they can be - I would say that one might be injured though, or very dehydrated. Koalas aren't so much 'tame' as 'autistic.' They can be slow-moving from time to time.

As for the sugar glider, probably rescued and will go to a rehab centre. Not so much tame, as needing help.

The little glider looks so happy to be scritched, like a purring kitten. It's adorable.

These made me smile. Thanks. It looks like the koala knows exactly what the fireman is doing for it. :-)

Thank you for the photos. It is always good to see life after trauma of rebirthing of our planet and it's ecology.

How strange to see a Koala drinking water, but then I doubt there were any leaves left. So proud of our volunteer firies.

Aww, poor koalas eh, they would have no chance of outrunning the firestorms like the roos and wallabys might. It's cool the firies have found and helped some of the wildlife.

It worries me sometimes that no matter how many deaths they report on and how awful it seems, I don't really stop and think until there are animals involved....

P do you know if there are any wildlife or land rehab groups looking for donations or support? Honestly I'd rather put my support into those groups than send food and clothing for the humans.

Yup, I donated here:
