This is SO not me taking a break.

I have harpy eagle and leopard shark as totem left, and then it's the current request list completed. I'll make icons out of the current batch, and then I'll be devoting a fortnight or so to Raven Kaldera's plant-spirit pictures. And then it will be a new request list! Insanity.

There is something almost crafty and smug in the look. And I like the way the black part contrasts with the colorful part.

I am glad that i wasn't the only one to think "Hey he looks smug!"

I love the way you've done the markings on its face -- and I agree that he looks very pleased with himself. =) Sea World had a couple of muntjac deer (Stella and Luna, a mother/daughter pair), and they were adorable.

Also, leopard shark? As in Australian leopard shark/zebra shark/Stegostoma fasciatum (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Zebra_shark)? ...If so, excuse me while I go hyperventilate. :D

Yes! But a juvenile one that looks more like this:

Than the one with the leopard-ey spots. I'm hoping to do one with leopardey spots one day a swell though. :)

Hello, Deer ;)

Muntjac are way cool. A deer that barks and has fangs. (Yeah, I know, they're 'tusks', not fangs, but still...)

This painting of yours is crossing over the line of mixed media - it almost looks like you photoshopped a photo of a muntjac in there, especially around the eyes. It's so soft and dewy-looking.

Ohh, they're so beautiful. My husband and I have decided that we want to have a zebra/leopard shark instead of children -- it'll require an enormous saltwater pool, so we'll have to wait until we move out of this condo into a house (and, um, win the lottery), but... someday, someday! :)

Thank you he's damned beautiful.

They are really gorgeous, I like the juvenile zebra-type patterns, as much as the adult leopard spots. And their tails!!! I couldn't get their tail in this picture, but I'd love to one day do a proper, full-body picture of them.

And I don't want kids either, I want an emu. LOL. :)

I will note also that when you -do- do sea otter, I would like to claim it. I don't know for trade or cash or what, but I requested that one back then because I really wanted it. :)

I will still have to be requested it, sea otter wasn't on my latest list (as it's one animal per person, not all the ones they requested), so I remember seeing it, but I think I picked a different one on the list.

However, I'll bump it to the top of the next list, if you like. Or at least near the top (around 3rd / 4th, since I've had a few people already bumped); what do you think?

Date: 2008-09-02 01:50 am (UTC)
From: [identity profile] ebonhost.livejournal.com
Oh! I didn't know it was one per list. Yeah, you did giraffe, which was awesome, but not 'must own this' like I am with sea otters. *grins* I don't need to have it done right away, so bumping isn't necessary. I'll make sure to request him when the next list goes up, is all. :)

It was one per list because otherwise I would've ended up with like... well hundreds and hundreds of animals. Heh.

BUT, that said, I like the lists because I can choose what is 'speaking' to me most. If you have your heart set on one animal, just pick that one animal and I'll most likely do it. But if you are less sure and have a bunch you like, list a bunch. :)

I'd love to do sea otter anyway, they're *awesome*

They're really stunning, no matter the pattern -- I actually really like that you've chosen to illustrate a juvenile (and that's a fantastic photo, BTW), since it incorporates both the pup-stripes and the adult-spots. So pretty! :D

LOL! I've always had a soft spot for flightless birds; I love ostriches and emus, and, when I was a little girl, I was fascinated by cassowaries (weird, beautiful, and they can disembowel a human!). Flightless birds remind me of dinosaurs, and I've always been a dinosaur geek. =)

*nods* Sea otters are truly lovely, spirited animals. I think they've stealthed in to become my favourite wild animal. *grins*
