I need to write my to do list for tomorrow. I wish I could just write 'lie facedown until everything goes away' but I cannot.

Maybe I shouldn't have written 2,200 words and two chapter commentaries (another 4,600 words) today. I did not think that through! But I also was so excited to get the commentaries done today.

I'm hoping to finish an Ice Plague chapter tomorrow. Chapter 26. We march on steadily to the end of the entire series.

This starts as: She sits very close to me while I'm working (typing on the keyboard). She inches closer. She slowly lowers herself down until she's just brushing my wrist. She gets one paw on my wrist. She gets two paws on my wrist. She rests her whole body weight on my wrist while I'm typing. And then slowly I stop and start petting her instead. And then she gets relaxed. And then I draw away. And then...magic.

Moet had to have surgery to remove cancer earlier this year, and while I'm not going to put any shots up of the surgical site or anything, here's him in the cone of shame.

He figured out pretty quickly that he could use it to be cute AND push Maybe out of the way. So what you're seeing here is him about to roll onto his back for pets AND shoving Maybe out of the way with plastic. Normally she fights him, but instead she was like 'Ah! Plastic!' and ran away.

Maybe says hello. She's a lot more relaxed than she used to be. But she's still not very relaxed overall. BUT she's pretty relaxed in this photo.

I just think they're neat.

Maybe will always look at me, Moet looks and is like 'I just don't care, I was comfortable.'

I cannot overstate how much she tries to do this. (I don't indulge it too much, because it's the FASTEST way to get a fucking RSI lmao, but I do think it's very cute, and she knows I think that, and she enjoys all the extra head kisses she gets when she is allowed to do it - what can I say, I'm weak to her charms). Sometimes I can't believe what a nightmare she used to be, until I remember that she ATE MY PRIDE SCARF THIS YEAR.

But she's so special.
