[Photos] UK 22 - Driving through Scotland
Jun. 12th, 2019 09:50 pmThis is an aggregate of driving photos from all over, but almost all of it is Northern Highlands. I will put locations where I can, but don't expect many. Most of these photos we did pull over for (in allocated spots to pull over, we are not the kind of people to just block traffic).
One of the things I found a total marvel about Scotland is how frequently they *didn't* actually make spectacular views accessible to tourists. Either they are just so used to having so many views that there's no point for them, or what we find spectacular is just normal. Or because the country is so hike/walking friendly, in many instances it doesn't bother to make many places available beyond that.
Honestly everywhere we went, we wished we'd spent more time there.

We visited the Isle of Skye after Eilean Donan. I personally didn't love it as much as some of the places we went, perhaps because I'd already seen literally three hours of picturesque places and was maybe a tad burnt out? But no, on the drive back I saw more breathtaking places. I think it was an energy thing, I did not click with this place, and I took very few photos as a result.

More Isle of Skye

The dual language signs typical of the Highlands

Driving back to the mainland.

I'm actually fairly certain this is the Loch Ness. We were caught in traffic, it's not a bad place to be caught in traffic, lol.

This is very much NOT Loch Ness (tbh, of all the big Lochs we saw, I preferred all the others to Ness, lol).
