[Art/Wildspeak] Karijiana in Spring
Jun. 27th, 2008 05:39 pmI loved, and then hated, and then loved this picture again in turns. It's one of those pictures that, until the last ten minutes of colouring, I didn't even know if it would all come together the way I wanted it to. And then hey presto, here She is. :) It's fair to say that I've never really done anything like this before.
This is one of the softer (and one of my favourite) incarnations of Karijiana, as a gentle, sensual, seductive Spring goddess, who with each step gives birth to butterflies and flowers all in the name of the love she carries for every living thing.
She, and all the butterflies, are outlined in gold paint - which of course you can't see in the scan. But later I'll take a photo so you can see the gold paint in full.

This was hard work! Lol. I mean all my pictures are, but those little stupid flowers! ARGH. Heh. :)

Date: 2008-06-28 04:14 am (UTC)Yes. Karijiana is a goddess I like rather much indeed. Perhaps I'll slowly slide into the habit of giving her a tolere or two from time to time--I'm not stingy with them for Hrum and L'yuvotn'r, after all.

Date: 2008-06-29 06:58 am (UTC)In a way she looks slightly Buddhist, I think it's the eyes looking similar to their famous style. Plus I love the colour of her hair, it gives her a look of age we well as renewal. Great stuff, I always love your art :-)
