Sometimes Maybe will take the single, several feet jump to the top of my chair, and then lie down precariously on it for as long as she possibly can, like some kind of creepy, adorable, sinister gargoyle.
After a while she gets bored and crawls down my arm for a cuddle.
But here she's in the non-bored 'is that a camera, I'm still not moving' part of the whole process.

It's always kind of a surprise to be writing quietly or do artwork and feel the sudden hurling weight of a little cat half jumping / climbing to the top of a chair that moves. Because it always pulls me backwards a little bit. It's actually caused me to make mistakes in artwork. And, sometimes, to shriek in terror because PTSD. The things we tolerate for our pets.

I realised you can see some of my neck scar in this photo.

Both my cats do this, only the back of my computer chair is taller than yours, so they end up practically sitting on my head (and it's a bit scary when they initially jump up there and pull the chair back!)

Rowan, aka Impsy, used to do a running tear down the hall, into my room, and up the back of my chair, which she didn't generally sit on so much as she used it for a springboard to get to the armoire that is behind my chair. It tore the hell out of my back because I would get about 2s notice and not nearly enough time to brace. (Plus the chair I had at the time was broken and would frequently unlock if hit hard enough, so the cat would hit and I'd go toppling backwards and nearly tip the chair over... FUN. Not.)

I think I like Maybe's cuddle chair idea much better.

Every time you post a photo of your cats I always go to find mine. :) If Lucy tried this the chair would probably fall over backward, she’s such a butterball. Maybe has excellent balance!
