Date: 2012-07-16 02:54 pm (UTC)Also a nice "hawk may look at the sun" in there, and I love the triangles on the arch ze is using for a perch.
Edited once for clarity, and a second time because Pokemon Conquest is awesome. I've finished the main arc and am moving on - right now I'm on Kenshin's arc, and getting a bit worried about the part where they gave Shingen way better armies than I have.
Ah, well. Sneaky use of Pokemon ought to save the day.

Date: 2012-07-17 04:21 am (UTC)I'm probably spending too long making all the warriors get their 100% link pokemon, too. *blush* Looking forward to all the other arcs, though!

Date: 2012-07-17 02:29 pm (UTC)... and I didn't spend nearly long enough getting people their perfect pokemon. *hangs head* Things probably would've gone better if I had. I did spend an inordinate amount of time leveling Ginchiyo up, though, because her attitude made me laugh just about every time I used her anywhere.
I loved the ending, though. It hit a very large percentage of my buttons. I hope you enjoy it, too!

Date: 2012-07-18 04:03 am (UTC)I've seen Pokemon Conquest at my local store, and have considered it... I don't have a pokemon game right now and am missing one!!! Do you recommend it?
Also, rawr!

Date: 2012-07-18 12:29 pm (UTC)I ask because when I set up my altar a few weeks ago - on my dresser, which already had my old non-theistic altar - I set the two totem paintings I have up to frame it. It felt right, and I had to start -somewhere-, and they were on my dresser already because that's where they belong and it would have felt wrong to put them elsewhere. So I have the Barnevelder hen on the right - and Tawny Frogmouth on the left.
And a couple days ago I thought I should go reread the totem meaning for the latter, because all I could remember was something about "being close to nature," so when I read all the bits about synchronicity and spirituality I kind of screamed a little inside. Okay maybe out loud, too.
And hey! Maybe it has nothing to do with anything! The only tawny frogmouths I've seen recently were the gobs and gobs of pictures I've posted on Pinterest and Tumblr. (But I'm having a hard time these days believing that most coincidences in this realm are coincidences.) But I figure it cannot hurt to say thank you anyway.

Date: 2012-07-19 01:45 am (UTC)If you like turn-based RPGs, then you'll really like Pokemon Conquest. I find it rich and complex, especially the more you play it. And it's a really interesting concept.

Date: 2012-07-19 01:46 am (UTC)In my experience, it tends to depend on the totem itself. I have some totems I work with who think altars are 'stupid' and prefer thanks in actions. I have other totems, like snail, who respond very well to an altar and a simple offering of rainwater (when available). So it really just depends on the totem itself. :)
I love tawny frogmouth, zie is a lovely teacher.

Date: 2012-07-19 04:58 am (UTC)Dan told me he got me a Pokey-mans game for Christmas, but it turned out to be Harry Potter years 5+ for my 3DS. I wasn't sad, but I did want a real Pokemon game!
