I've had to put these under a cut since both are quite large.
They're both commissions, of a larger size.
In other news, it's raining a lot here today,
so it's lovely weather.
Anyone else playing Pokemon Conquest?

Northern Goshawk as Totem

Ahhh! I have such a fondness for Huginn and Muninn! :) Such a perfectly balanced piece, with the world tree in behind them.

It's predictable, but I really love Northern Goshawk!
Also a nice "hawk may look at the sun" in there, and I love the triangles on the arch ze is using for a perch.

Edited once for clarity, and a second time because Pokemon Conquest is awesome. I've finished the main arc and am moving on - right now I'm on Kenshin's arc, and getting a bit worried about the part where they gave Shingen way better armies than I have.

Ah, well. Sneaky use of Pokemon ought to save the day.

Balance is the word that came to mind for me with the Huginn and Muninn piece. I just love how you've positioned them in relation to each other and the tree behind.

Goshawk is gorgeous as well!

I love, love, LOVE your ravens! How I adore corvids in all their shapes and sizes. And that gorgeous goshawk gave me Egyptian vibes, oddly. As a side note AJ and I think we saw a march hawk on a recent road trip. I was thinking it was a goshawk here and got myself confused!

You know I like the Goshawk already, but Huginn and Muninn are *amazing*. :)

Hee. I went for an Umbreon, which is also a 70% link, so I feel you pain there!

... and I didn't spend nearly long enough getting people their perfect pokemon. *hangs head* Things probably would've gone better if I had. I did spend an inordinate amount of time leveling Ginchiyo up, though, because her attitude made me laugh just about every time I used her anywhere.

I loved the ending, though. It hit a very large percentage of my buttons. I hope you enjoy it, too!

Pokey-mans?!

I've seen Pokemon Conquest at my local store, and have considered it... I don't have a pokemon game right now and am missing one!!! Do you recommend it?

Also, rawr!

I have a sort of general question about totems: Is there a specific way in which it is appropriate to thank them?

I ask because when I set up my altar a few weeks ago - on my dresser, which already had my old non-theistic altar - I set the two totem paintings I have up to frame it. It felt right, and I had to start -somewhere-, and they were on my dresser already because that's where they belong and it would have felt wrong to put them elsewhere. So I have the Barnevelder hen on the right - and Tawny Frogmouth on the left.

And a couple days ago I thought I should go reread the totem meaning for the latter, because all I could remember was something about "being close to nature," so when I read all the bits about synchronicity and spirituality I kind of screamed a little inside. Okay maybe out loud, too.

And hey! Maybe it has nothing to do with anything! The only tawny frogmouths I've seen recently were the gobs and gobs of pictures I've posted on Pinterest and Tumblr. (But I'm having a hard time these days believing that most coincidences in this realm are coincidences.) But I figure it cannot hurt to say thank you anyway.

I do like turn-based RPGs! And I miss pokemon, but having played nearly the exact same game over and over again, I didn't really want to do it again. Also my Pokemon Pearl was stolen when I moved from Saskatchewan and I haaaaaaate having to redo a game when I'm already part-way through.

Dan told me he got me a Pokey-mans game for Christmas, but it turned out to be Harry Potter years 5+ for my 3DS. I wasn't sad, but I did want a real Pokemon game!
