[Art] Sable German Shepherd as Totem
Apr. 28th, 2012 10:52 pmA wonderful commission,
and a lot of fun to colour!
The photo is probably a bit more accurate for warmth of tone,
but the scan shows details and oh,
one day I'll just manage to merge the two.

Date: 2012-04-29 03:32 pm (UTC)I don't know for certain because of course I don't "see" such things, but I suspect the shape of the spirals is directly linked to how energy flows from the subject. I don't have anything to base this on besides speculation, but I'd say that the way these "kinked" spirals are depicted indicates hyperspatial movement (i.e. a hypercube as opposed to a cube, or a tesseract, for example). Or maybe it's because they pulse or oscillate and what you're drawing is capturing the flux through time, whereas other energy spirals radiate constantly. *shrugs and looks sheepish* Like I said, rank speculation on my part.
I am very much looking forward to seeing this piece in person! :)
