I don't have direct experience with Australian ravens to be able to tell, but from your photos they strike me as behaving much more like our magpies or rooks than ravens. They're more nimble and lively than the Common ravens, who tend to be portentous even when they're playing.

And those long legs, wow. I don't think I ever seen them that long on our crows.

I was only there for an hour; but I decided that next year I will definitely get a day pass and try and brave a day! :) I think it was a good way of doing it - a little bit of exposure this time, it did look pretty awesome! I'm sorry I missed you too!

Great photos, and the tilted-head one is particularly nice and cute =). Australian ravens look so awesome--plus I've enjoyed drawing them (I especially like their extra big throat hackles and white/grey eyes).

We have a pair of crows nesting in one of the trees outside our kitchen window.
