Colouring - I've just decided to radically change how I was going to colour the background, so this should be... interesting. I'd hate having to start this one again! But sometimes you just gotta take risks!

I'm always amazed at how soft the colours are in the initial colouring process versus how vibrant they become later. I'm certain whatever you produce will be interesting at least!

Hello, I'm a friend of Cass (aka the Black Wolf) and came to your journal that way. i've always wondered about totem animals and whether they need to be from where you're from - as in, being born in Australia means you'd have a bandicoot rather than a tiger. What do you think?

I don't think they need to be where you're from, because a lot of things influence a totem animal (I think), but! I do think that a lot of Australians ignore the possibility of Australian totems or mislabel themselves, because they're only aware of the 'Big American' ones like the wolf and the cougar and so on.

I actually have a totem website I run, where I basically write out totem meanings and sometimes essays for lesser known animals; including ones like the bandicoot (hell, I have an unpublished Australian Totem Deck, heh, including the bandicoot), in the hopes that more people will be willing to look at the animals around them everyday; instead of the big glossy exciting ones.

If you're at all interested, you can check it out here:

I mean some of the more common ones are there too, but I think I'm the only person on the internet with a totem essay representing the stomatopod! *g*
