I have completed inks for four wild cats this week.
Also a domestic cat, and a Russian trotter (horse).
But four wild cats!
These are all awaiting colour.
Two are available / two are commissions.
Appropriate icon is appropriate.

I'd say you've made another "leap in technique" based on these. They are *incredible*. :)

I've met all four species, and you've captured each of them, no doubt. I'm particularly taken with both the cheetah and the leopard, but I love the caracal. (I'm very partial to caracals, they are such remarkable cats -- the desert itself made into feline flesh.)

Have you ever drawn the Sand cat (Felis margarita)?

You noticed that too! I didn't think it was possible, but these seem to be even more refined in inking technique than in the past, though I questioned whether it was just my eyes playing tricks on me.

No, you're describing precisely what struck me. The inking technique, certainly, but also the sophistication in capturing the animals' expressions. :)

Yes, that's exactly what I was thinking, especially when I saw the cheetah and serval.

So damned beautiful! I WISH I had the money to buy the caracal especially, but also the serval!

*nods* Oh, if money weren't such a damned issue... Because if it was no object, you'd have a patron for life.

These are all amazing. Something about the serval in particular is really pulling at me: I identified with them quite strongly when I was a child, though now I can't remember why beyond their physical characteristics intriguing me. Granted, I must join many of the above when noting how striking the caracal is as well.

1. They are lovely and striking!
2. What are the glyphs on the cheetah and caracal?
3. Ista (see pic), currently lying on my desk, says "Keep that ink away from ME!"

Oh wow, your symbol/glyph for Cheetah is eerily similar to the one I use. I can't wait to see it in color, because if you end up using the same/similar colors I use for Cheetah I will be excited. Too bad it's unavailable. It's not often that "my" feline totems match other people's in energy so well (I am very cat and very particular about my Cats).

It always makes me happy to see some smaller felines represented. Your concept of serval energy seems "foreign" to me, but maybe that will change when it's colored? It's nice to see others interpretations of totems too, of course, especially if they're very different than mine. It's like seeing a familiar object from a new angle, and almost thinking it's a whole new object before realizing, no, you know this object but have just never seen this side of it.

I've always admired your inking skills, probably because they're so different than my own rough, tameless lines. It's just not in my personality to be so sophisticated and smooth with lines, and I tend to admire/be attracted to art styles that are different than my own.

Do you have any plans for Marbled Cat? If not, I may commission it through your Etsy in the future, as I have just noticed that listing.

I didn't know you had a rescue hybrid! Living with one must be a really interesting experience. I've worked with a lot of feral cats while volunteering, but I've never even met a hybrid. I've got a four month old who was feral, born to barn cats that just roamed and hunted whatever, who's in the process of adjusting to a household environment and being her caretaker is harder than babysitting newborn twins. Just this morning she climbed up the back of my chair and stole an entire pancake right off my plate. I can't imagine what a hybrid would be like!

I do have a rescue dog that's part coyote (one parent was a coydog, the other a husky). She's unique, to say the least. I've learned a lot about canines and friendship from being her caregiver and companion.
