Redoing Black Swan as Firebird






Using the same colour of paper as last time, since it looks so damned good. My full collection of pastels is on the right. Winsor Newtons, Carbothellos, and then a motley bunch of Rembrandts, Schminkes and something else I can't remember. Drew a border around the pastel paper because that's the smart thing to do.

Applying colour. Here you can see that I move the pastel paper around in all directions while I'm working. Trusty malleable eraser on the left.





Post applying; pre-blending.





Blending! Don't touch your clothes!

The face here has been touched up with malleable eraser, and I've removed some of the sketch lines.





And now I am eating a breakfast peppermint trumpet to celebrate.
