White Nosed Coati (Pizote / Antoon)
Nasua narica

The white-nosed coati/coatimundi, also known as the pizote, is a member of the raccoon family found in wooded areas within the lower end of North America, and the upper end of South America. They have flexible long, sensitive, white-tipped noses, which, along with their sharp claws; assist in their omnivorous diet; they are particularly fond of fruit. It is diurnal in its habits. When walking, it holds its tail upright in a distinct position. The white-nosed coati is an excellent terrestrial hunter, but is also a competent swimmer and climber, and tend to sleep in trees. Males are solitary by nature, females travel in packs with offspring. They are adaptable to human presence, very intelligent, and have been easily domesticated.

As a totem animal

Looking after others, being generous with your time and space, foraging, finding wisdom in unexpected places, being highly adaptable, sniffing out the truth, accepting the imposing presence of others, integration and assimilation, physical play.

I really like the flash pic. The purple swirls are so pretty!

They are very pretty. I don't get to use the non-metallic colours much, but when I do, I like how they turn out.

It's a Spencer beastie! I'd never seen one of these until the rehab got one in (as a new resident). They're cute as crap, and this really does them justice. Such fun, high-spirited balls of energy! Nippy, though. Spencer likes to draw blood.

Spencer likes to draw blood.

Me too. Maybe that's why our energy got along so well. Heh.

May I ask what is your color symbology for the pictures, if there is any and it's more than about visual like about some deeper meaning? I've been wondering for quite a while.

May I ask what is your color symbology for the pictures, if there is any and it's more than about visual like about some deeper meaning?

The colour symbology is complex and depends more on what the animal wants, then how I would express the animal itself. But generally speaking; each colour in the energy circles represents something different. And then the colours in the background represent something different again (i.e. red on the spirals is different to red in the energy circle), and then the colour in the two paired lines in each picture is something else again.

So in the case of Coati - Red in the circle represents dynamism, force, curiosity, the root chakra and vigour. The red on the spirals as a high vibration frequency paired with violet (low vibration) indicates the ability to represent all spectrums of experience and thus a level of adaptability.

But the red in the jaguar piece I did a while back, represents blood and the presence of predation or a predator in the jungle.

So yeah... complex.
