[Warning]

As per the ability to now cross-post your comments whether they are on screened, filtered, friends-locked or public settings of other people's posts:

"If I find out that ANYONE is reposting things from my journal to their Facebook or Twitter, even if it's their own comments, YOU ARE UNCONDITIONALLY AND WHOLLY BANNED FROM MY JOURNALS AND ANY COMMUNITIES I CREATED AND MAINTAIN. There will be no second chances on this. My journals and my Facebook do not mix. Fuck that shit." (- ganked from [livejournal.com profile] ariestess)

You might as well unfriend me now, if you think this is going to be a problem. I am dead serious. Fuck Livejournal, for their growing FB style issues with privacy, that I even have to be making this warning in the first place.

wow, that's creepy, lj. I do post some of my own entries on fb, but never comments, and certainly never anybody else's content!

Wow.. I only noticed today the whole cross-posting thingy... that is nasty O.o

Fuck that shit!! I agree completely Moonvoice!

I have ZERO interest in Facebook, MySpace or Twitter, and do not even have accounts on any of these. Definitely NOT a good idea to have this so-called "interfacing" between social systems.

So far I have not seen any positive reaction to this announcement from anyone I know. I think if enough folks here express their displeasure to LJ management, that they'll rethink this new "feature". Or at least offer us all the option to opt out if we don't want to participate.

I really hate the opt-in model of privacy. *fume*

I don't have a Facebook or Twitter and that is entirely intentional. I'll be putting up the same flavor of notice on my journal. Uuuuugly.

Damn straight.

May I too grab the stuff in quotes for my own journal? I've just locked it down (writing a post to explain that will be public) and I've left thoughts on the news post (some 3500 comments so far).

I do not like this at all! It'd be ok for communities (well, they need an opt out too), but for personal journals? Fuck that noise. I'm about to get ugly with it.

Sigh.

Grab as much as you like. :)

And feel free to post a complaint here:

I've seen many, many posts about this on my flist today and I completely agree that this "crosspost" feature is a terrible invasion of privacy.
LJ is my safely anonymous haven.

I'd never dream of crossposting anything to those who friend me on FB. I use FB mainly for keeping in touch with my classmates of 20+ years ago. (They write, I listen.)They know nothing of my life now and I hope they never will.

It pains me to know that someone could carelessly invade my privacy by accidentally clicking a small ticky box.

Well, damn.

What the hell, little 'repost to facebook and twitter' buttons?

I don't like you, facebook! You're ugly, and I don't want you for a reason.

Totally also have this policy in place.
It is disgusting. I'm hoping that the absence of staff response on the news post indicates they're in serious panic meetings to implement a opt out of any x-posting from your journal/comments. :/

IAWTC.

WTF ELJAY.

They do what now?!

Ergh... I can forsee my future not being a good one.. I know many whose LJ/FB/Twitter combine. :/

Luckily, I don't believe in that. It's not that I don't love my family.. I do... But I've had way too many "fucking Catholics" moments with them. :/

You can rest assured that anything you hold private and share, I regard as a privilage and would never compromise under any circumstances.
