Tentacles need another coat of black,
and I need about another two days dedicated colouring on the wolverine.

That is extremely striking. And it's very helpful to see it in situ as it were, so one can appreciate the size. Perhaps this is something you can't answer, but what will you do with it once it's finished? Display it, work with it? Or is the critical act the creation, and they you'll be able to sell it if you want? This is such an important piece that I'm having difficulty understanding how one copes with it after it has been created. (Of course my comprehension abilities are in the negative digits at the moment. Tired and sick. So please pardon me if I shouldn't have asked, and just ignore it.)

Wow! It is truly fascinating to watch the progression of this piece. It's so striking and visceral. Is it going to keep the white background? *is curious*

Perhaps this is something you can't answer, but what will you do with it once it's finished?

Do another 6-10 and approach galleries - get them displayed. I've been working with it though, as I go. My process involves writing down words and sentences that come to my mind as I work, and then actively exploring them later, which seems to be working quite well (if I need to change my methodology, I will). I doubt any of these will sell quickly enough that I'll be without the chance to work with them over the next few months / year, but that being said, they're also too big for me to easily frame and put up and work with in that manner, so they'll still have to go into 'storage.'

As for coping with it once it has been created... it's a process I've had some practice with, I think. I never used to want to sell anything, but nowadays it's different. I'm sure there will be a couple of autodidact pieces I won't want to part with, but this is not one of them. Don't get me wrong, I love it personally, and would hang it in my room, but I feel like the issues it's brought up are already being dealt with so I'm not sure I'll need the visceral reminder.

Yep, going to keep the white background. This series will be embracing white (negative) space a great deal more. I don't think there will be any completely coloured pieces in the whole series.

It is gorgeous, but not restful, so it's something that one would have to display "in the right place". I can see where you don't need the reminder. Enough that you've lived through the experiences which gave rise to it, yes?

Daaamn. That is huge. And the contrast between all the black/white and the wolverine's earthcolors is seriously fascinating.

Wow, seeing someone hold this piece really allows for a sense of its size! There's something very striking about the flat black of the tentacles contrasting with the in-depth rendering of the wolverine.
