I wanted to say egg too, but it doesn't seem round enough, and slightly transparent just on the surface.

Is it a bread stick? Looks vaguely bread-like, with some browned spots, and it's shiny, so the aftermath of an egg wash?

It also seems to have the appearance of slightly textured semi-gloss wall paint on a fly-spotted wall...

It is the top of the rice pudding that I baked. It has a layer of custard develop, and the specks are nutmeg and cinnamon and vanilla bean. :D
