Fringe is being moved to the Friday night death slot, and while fans will likely follow, I still think it may be axed at the end of this season. Which will be one of the saddest things ever. For TV, anyway. :(
On that front, I really think tv show seasons shouldn't cost as much
Yeah, you know the irony is that TV seasons are SO MUCH CHEAPER in the US, vs. Australia where they're commonly split into two halves and then you pay twice as much (at least) for a whole season. Usually there's about a $25 USD difference in cheapness between ordering over there vs. buying locally.
I don't mind paying between $30-70 for around 12+ hours of TV, when I willingly pay around $25-30 for a single movie. Seems like a good deal to me for sometimes up to 20 times more information/time and so on, especially as it is usually so much cheaper when ordered from the USA (that's inc. shipping, too).
I *loathe* Australia's need to sell TV series for a ridiculous amount. Something like half a season of The Office can retail at $50.00 in some places.
Yeah, I'm really worried about that. FOX is completely bombastic about their shows; they're always messing them up when it comes to airing them. Even Fringe had an episode malfunction in the first season, if I remember correctly; they "forgot" an episode and aired it several weeks later, at least for US. =/
I agree on that front; I always hate buying movies 'cause they're so expensive for the run-time. But still, not many people these days can drop 60-70 bucks USD on a tv show season when the money is necessary elsewhere and it could probably be found online. That's ridiculous of AU, though!
