Was the texture of the ink background intentional? It reminds me of cracked desert "soil".

I like how this turned out. When I saw the pre-color version, it had a sad feeling to it, but with color it feels more contemplative instead.

Yeah actually, the textural thing was partially intentional (just not to come out as strongly as it did in the second photo! Heh.), otherwise I would have used paint and really blocked it out. :)
