The inks are definitely where I put the most effort into the illustration. Not that I don't put in effort in the other stages, but... a solid inking period will ensure that the colouring will generally go pretty well, because inking will help with everything from shading to other details.

I'm actually rusty with non-line-dependent artwork, so I need to get back to pastels again to start sharpening up other skillsets.

I love that crow(e) totem so much. :D I'm glad it's still so precious to you. That black/green/lime green colour combination remains one of my utter favourites.
