Rune mats are hell easy to make, you could even make one on the back of an old, plain shirt if you wanted to. All you need is a permanent black marker. Heh.

With runes, it can be difficult because there's no pictures to meditate on with them, only staves. I got over my unfamiliarity with them in a particularly stubborn way, I stuck with one and one only for a month. That's a lot of learning - two years in all - and I don't know if anyone else is insane enough to do that.

So maybe one a week? Look at it, look up it's meanings, meditate on it, and go from there. It could help.
